Hi, I was first interested in the X220, but I'm now more drawn to the E420 for the look, performance and affordability. At first I was not interested, but then I realized the non-s version has a choice for 9cells battery and non-gloss screen. 14" is too big, but I'll live with it to save $200 compared to the X220.
I saw 4 display choices for the E420, but lenovo just listed them without any description. If anyone know please let me know is any of them are IPS panel? Thanks.
14.0" W HD (1366x768), AntiGlare, Midnight Black
14.0" W HD (1366x768),VibrantView, Midnight Black
14.0" W HAD (1366x768), AntiGlare, Heatwave Red
14.0" W HD (1366x768),VibrantView, Heatwave Red
Neither do I know whether the Intel Centrino or Thinkpad WLAN card is a better choice.

Re: Question about E420 display choices.
Nevermind, I saw a review and it seem Heatwave Red simply means red color for the back instead of black. Also a youtube review showing the screen flexes a bit. That's unfortunate, I was looking for something a little more durable. I had my fair share of self replacing CCFL for laptop LCD and replacing cellphone LCD, they can be a pain.
Which brings me to another point. Why on earth Lenovo thought the E420s should have gorilla glass to the protect the screen (when this is a laptop, not a tablet, and the screen is protected when its folded) rather than making a stronger chassis which would protect the whole thing overall.
