E490 vs E490s - Need advise on buying

I am looking for budget machine with better battery life and performance. I have chooses E490 and E490s. Currently E490 is not in Core i7. I was thinking I should wait maybe they will offer in Core i7, any idea? I am planing to keep machine for at least next couple of years, at least 5~6 years. So want to buy something which can support future apps as well.

Please advise from your best experience/guess which one is better machine in terms of budget as well as performance. My usage will be not very heavy. But yes, I may will open more than 20 tabs in Chrome at one time.

Current Config of E490 is Core i5, 8GB Ram, 512GB SSD, Up to 13.6 hours on a 45Whr battery*, with dual drive support.

E490s Config is: Core i7, 8GB and 512GB SSD, Up to 11.5 hours on a 42Whr battery, single drive.

I am more inclined towards the E490 as in future I can add extra drive such as 1TB Sata (But obviously its Core i5 not i7). While E490s does not have extra drive bay. Also I was reading some reviews it seems E490s battery is not good?
