The laptop will quickly turn on and off twice before turning on for a third time and staying on with a blank screen and solid white power light. The fans will rev up from time to time but the laptop seems to be bricked.
So far I've tried
-unplugging the CMOS battery
-Unplugging the laptop battery
-removing the RAM
-holding down the reset button on the motherboard
So far I've had no luck an have no idea what went wrong.

Re: X1 extreme gen 2 no splash screen
Not a lot of info. Any evidence of a sudden shock to the laptop. IE broken plastics?
I would unplug the battery/s. You may need to visit a YT tutorial to figure out how to do that. Take out the memory (carefully, ground yourself first, don't touch the pins). Hold down the power switch for 30 seconds. Put everything back together--carefully.
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

I let it sit at the blank screen for a little while and when i checked up on it nothing changed except the laptop was hot to the touch. I gave it one last shot and turned it off and back on and it magically came back to life. Went into the diagnostic menu and did a motherboard test, everything checked out. I have no clue what would cause the laptop to act like that.

Why is my P1 Gen 7 so much better on battery? Cool, quiet, fast — but not on AC.
