X1C Gen1 + EM7355 GOBI5000 - will it work?

#1 Post by M3NTAL » Wed Nov 12, 2014 8:08 am

I'm looking to upgrade the WWAN card in my X1C Gen1 (3440CTO) to the newer LTE WWAN card.

Has anyone done this or know if this upgrade will work?

It's not possible
  • You would need an adapter from M.2 to mPCIe
  • You would need antennas from a model equipped with a M.2 WWAN card or you'll need to solder the antenna connectors from a mPCIe WWAN card to the M.2 card as they use different antenna connectors
  • Biggest problem: you'll need a modded UEFI to remove the whitelist. That's impossible due to the encryption and the digital signing of the UEFI.
