Trackpoint right click not working

Hi all. I have a x1c3. had my computer hang due to large number of tabs open and ram exhausted but then all of a sudden the right click button (just below the spacebar) stopped registering as a click. Left click works, but right click doesn’t.Anyone know a fix?

P.s. I tried reinstalling drivers, updating drivers, turning trackpoint on and off on BIOS, to no avail.

i cleaned the connectors on the touchpad ribbon cable on both ends and reseated the cable but it did not help.

im wondering if it is a bad cable or bad trackpoint button? or something else? should i order a new cable or touchpad?
