I have a brand new X1 Titanium, which I like very much except for one thing: when I move my finger over the trackpad (touchpad) my fingertip sticks, and jumps 1 or 2 mm at a time, making it very difficult to put the cursor where I want it. I call it "stuttering." I've tried cleaning it with alcohol to no effect. I have a MacBook Air too, and that works flawlessly (in case you were thinking it's something about my fingertip).
Since it's new, I can return it and get another one to see if it does the same thing. (There are none sold over the counter where I live.) But would that even help? Does anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the Forum.
That Titanium seems to be a bit of an expensive oddball.
I just read this Notebookcheck review.
Scroll down to "Touchpad, TrackPoint & Touchscreen".
You are not the only one with scroll-problems.
IMHO returning it would only give you another one with the same problems.
I have no personal experience with those, but a Thinkpad/laptop with a glass touchpad (such as the X1E) might be a better solution, if you read all those reviews.
Or maybe there is a glass-pad available as an option for the Titanium?

Having this same issue with my new E16. Did you ever find any solutions like covers or stickers or anything?
Re: Fingertip sticks and jumps when I use the trackpad
I have this problem with my refurbished x1 carbon thinkpad 12th gen. In all other respects, the touchpad works fine, but when I try to scroll with two fingers, sometimes it works and sometimes the cursor seems to get stuck or stutter or stagger on the screen. I have not been able to correlate it with anything, seems random. Any suggestions?
