Thinkpad Twist s230u

I guess this is the right area...

I recently picked up a Thinkpad Twist s230u from ebay. It's in surprisingly good condition except for a missing Left Shift key and dead CMOS and main batteries. The hard drive came with what appears to be the original Windows 8 installation, though I've currently replaced the drive with an SSD and installed a stripped-down Windows 11.

A couple of questions, however, that I could use some help with:
1) Is there a WLAN card whitelist in the s230u BIOS?
2) Any suggestions for a good tablet-oriented OS? Do you all run Windows on your Thinkpad tablets or something else?
3) Anybody got a spare left shift key?
4) The main battery is being recognized and is reporting 92% of original capacity, but no charging is occurring. Any suggestions to jumpstart the process?
