How do I get my $14.99 Win8 Pro RTM upgrade?

#1 Post by barrywohl » Fri Oct 26, 2012 6:24 am

When I bought my X230T in August, 2012, I clicked on the Lenovo link and signed up for my $14.99 upgrade from Windows 7 Pro x64 to Windows 8 Pro. I got a confirmation from Microsoft.

I expected to find a link in my Inbox today to pay for the upgrade and be able to download it. Nothing so far.

Does anyone know how this process is supposed to work?

I signed up for the $14.99 offer through http://windowsupgradeoffer.com/en-US and received an email from them this morning. Give it a try.

My email came about 8 pm 10/26/2012.

However, I found my original confirmation email from 08/25/2012 and followed a link there to get my discount code. I was able to purchase the Win 8 Pro x64 for $14.99 and download the image yesterday morning.

:) Very painless. By 9 pm I had all my device manager issues solved and my software installed.

Win 8 Pro identifies my screen on my X230T as only supporting 2 touch not many touch. I don't know if a driver can fix that or if I just need to settle for 2 point touch sensitivity.

I am enjoying Win 8 Pro on the X230T.
