Hello,
I have a Lenovo T400.
I want to install windows 8.1 in my PC, but I Can't because Windows say that my PC don't have NX Processor Technology.
(Windows 8 works, but windows 8.1 don't)
Someone can help me?
(Sorry for my English)

Re: Lenovo T400@Windows 8.1
I think you added a zero to your model number.
The T40 is a very old laptop without the NX (no execute) bit.
The T400 is a reasonably modern laptop that runs Windows 8.1 . The problem people run into with W8.1, if the T400 has switchable graphics, is that the AMD driver reports a "bugcheck".
But that is not your problem. You have a T40, and that model cannot run Windows 8.1. It is now mainly of interest to collectors.

Re: Lenovo T400@Windows 8.1
If you want to run Windows 8, only T43 models from the T4x line that came with 533MHz Dothan cpus will work. These processors have PAE which Windows 8 requires. However, having installed Windows 8 on my 2.0GHz T43 with 2GB ram and X300 graphics, the performance was only OK, but the system ran noticeably hotter. The new GUI and additional processes can slow the system down at times. I stuck linux back onto it after a few days...
