Hi,
I recently purchased a T460s and downloaded the user manual. This shows the settings in the bios, one of which is Intel AMT (under Config). But in the bios on my machine, there is no entry for Intel AMT.
I raised a service request with Lenovo support and was phoned within a few hours which was good. The answer was essentially "we do not know the answer to this so we will close it". I imagine they get 100% closure rate.
I pushed back and was then told that this option is only if the PC has a Xeon processor which sounds wrong on several fronts. I imagine that a xeon in a T460s would cause it to melt.
So does anyone know why the Intel AMT option is not showing?
Regards,
John

Re: T460s - BIOS - Intel AMT
I think AMT is only supported by vPro capabable processors. Check your processor on the Intel website. Motherboard and network cards also need to support it.
Personally I'm biased AGAINST vPro, AMT and all that. There was a case a few years ago where Lenovo pre-provisioned machines with encryption keys, which basically meant anyone could hack into your PC at the hardware level. A very bad and, frankly, very ignorant idea by them, as it would catch individual customers unaware. If you're in a big company you'd of course change the encryption keys, I assume.

Thanks for this.
I must admit I thought I had a vPro processor, it is a business PC. Though not something I will ever use so not end of world.
