T480 - Internal Battery discharge issue

Hello,

I wonder if T480 - Internal Battery discharge issue/fiasco still exist?

I've had been burnt with this issue not too long after I purchased T480 6 years ago. I did replace the original internal battery which was reported as failed after that but the replaced one (OEM) failed in a short time frame. At the time I came to know that the "Power Bridge" has issue probably the firmware issue. I still have the original battery. I wonder if Lenovo ever fixed this issue perhaps via a BIOS update or is this issue still exist? I'm not sure if there is a way to revive the batteries I've but I can buy one from Ebay . However I don't want to buy it to deal with the failure again.

I came across TLP and tp-smapi but trying to understand these and figure out what I need to do to fix if there is one.

Well, the issue was - it discharges the internal battery first and then the external one. In my case, it discharged the internal battery below the safe threshold and reported it as failed. I replaced the original batter with another genuine battery thereafter but the same thing happened to it as well.
