T430s screen upgrade (one I installed 2016 broke). Darker band in the middle of the screen vertically

Hey.

The screen upgrade I did back in 2016 to my t430s was great until my cat knocked it off a table and broke the screen. I ordered a replacement from eBay in Dec, and just got around to installing it.

Works great with the exception of a darker band in the middle of the screen. It's exactly 1/3 of the display..

Is this backlight bleed ? Or did something happen to my conversion board (My board is original not a copy) It's only really visible on apps with a darker interface or photo editing... I'm assuming it's the panel.

The photo makes the screen look blown out left/right but it’s nice a crisp. With the exception of the darker area exactly in the middle of the screen.

Yeah I figured that much. I bought it in Dec, so I’m likely screwed .. all other auctions now say “compatible” … I forgot to mention this is a AUO B140HAN01.3. I haven’t run an hwinfo on it yet.

Really super annoying though.

I guess anothe option is to find a half-working T460 (or newer)-- at least those have known IPS screens.
