Hi,
I am extremely frustrated with my T430 (i5-3360, 8GB RAM, SSD, HDD in Optical, 1600x1200, Integrated Graphics)
First I must say that it runs great, no performance issues.
The major problem is the Fan, it is always ON and seems to be a full speed.
When idle my temperatures are (CPU = 42oC, MB = 44oC)
When web browsing/using word my temperatures are (CPU = 46oC, MB = 48oC)
I have only once seen my temperatures go over 60oC when running intense operations.
I am using Speccy to monitor temperatures.
First, I think these temperatures are a it high, but please correct me if wrong
Two, My fan is ALWAYS ON and at one constant speed, which I think is full. It is very annoying, and pretty much a deal breaker for this UNIT. All the air blown out is basically room temperature. I have contacted Lenovo, but no response as of yet.
Does anyone have any comments/advice?

T430 Fan Noise - The Fan is Always ON!
Re: T430 Fan Noise - The Fan is Always ON!
Hello and welcome to the forum
Your temperatures aren't exceptionally high. Browsing this forum, my notebook has a CPU temp 47°C. When watching videos, it's in the sixties, i believe i've seen 69°C.
You could check the Lenovo support site whether they offer a BIOS update. If they do, you might want to flash the new BIOS version.
If you don't have the Lenovo ThinkVantage Power Manager installed, install it. Check what power scheme or profile the notebook uses there. You might want to define your own power scheme or power profile in Power Manager.
If you don't have Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update installed, install it. Let it check for new driver versions. Install any drivers that you suspect could influence fan behaviour.

Hello,
You are not the only one suffering from this design problem, please check the lenovo support blog concerning this serious issue.
http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-a ... ight/false
Lenovo Professionals and technicians worked on my machine (BIOS update, changing fan twice) and no improvement of any kind.
This fan sounds like a hairdryer and it is no new issue.
best regards,

Welchgc,
are you using the software image - including operating system - that was pre-installed by Lenovo, or did you wipe the hard drive and install an OS from scratch? If you wiped the hard drive and installed an OS from scratch, what operating system are you using?
