Here's a review of the old vs new keyboard.. Looks like the new one could be a winner

Winner: ThinkPad T430. The T430′s island-style keyboard sounds more like the original IBM PC keyboard, which set the gold standard for audio feedback.
What?! Scissor switch keys sound *nothing* like buckling spring keys. I know, I type on both every single day. I mean... I like the sound of ThinkPad keyboards fine enough I suppose, but they don't sound anything like any of the Model Ms that I've used (not the IBM ones, not the Lexmark-made ones, and not the modern ones by Unicomp.)

I'm not terribly concerned about how by keyboard "sounds." Its more of a touch thing. The feel of the T430s keyboard is nice. For a chiclet keyboard, its a very good keyboard. Its 1000 times better than my MacBook Air or the Vizio ultrabook I briefly tried out. However, I still prefer the tactile feedback on the T420s. I also prefer the T420s aesthetic - the blue enter key, etc... Maybe I'll get used to the new keyboard in time. I guess we have no choice but it doesn't look like Lenovo will go back to the old one.
