How to add a camera to a T530

Hi,

I have just bought a T530 for my sister, which is due to arrive soon, but on closer viewing, I realise that it doesn't actually have a webcam. Looking at the pictures of the T530, it seems that the bezel doesn't have the necessary hole for the webcam to see out of. It looks like the space is completely filled in. Are all T530 front bezels the same? Is it possible that it is just some kind of blanking plate in the space where the webcam is behind, which can be removed?

I have been searching online but to no avail. I am not sure if I need to buy a whole new bezel for the T530 + a 720p camera (part number: 04W1364?)+ a viewing window to go in the bezel?

Please could someone advise? I would really appreciate some clarification

My sister is going back to mozambique soon, so I don't have a lot of time to wait for parts to arrive. I am in the UK, and it seems that all the parts I need are only available in the US.

I'm not exactly sure about the whole process since I've never undertaken it before or ordered parts from an FRU list, but I'll try and hopefully make your research a little easier.
To answer your first question. Yes all front bezels should be the same size on all T530. A similar question for adding a webcam has been posted for a T400 http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=96426
I think that the process should be similar as long as you get the wiring correct.

So the FRU for your camera part (second eBay link) is 04W1364, which is actually specified for the T520 according to the Lenovo website (http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/pd011778). I think it would technically fit, but don't quote me on that. The FRU's change based on whatever new parts Lenovo comes out with so I think when they first made a T530, it shared some FRU's with the T530 and then they made some new parts and thus changed the FRU (at least that's what happens with batteries).
On the T530 FRU list, I think what you were looking for was FRU: 04W2668 (HD Camera). Here's a link to the T530 FRU list (http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkP ... 131007.pdf). As for the bezel, it looks like what your seller has is a kit, which should include a bezel. In the picture, the black plastic at the top is the bezel and then you fit that together with the lens to get a webcam assembly. I would ask the seller for more clarification since I don't want to make assumptions. The bezel list can also be found in the T530 FRU list.
