For those having trouble with x230 tablet touch and pen in Windows 10

I have been having trouble with my x230 tablets touchscreen and pen functionality, specifically pinch zoom wouldn't work, and when using a drawing program the eraser end wouldn't be recognized by default as the eraser

according to this reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comme ... ng_on_w10/) all you need to do is install an older version of the wacom driver

I've backed up the driver here (https://gofile.io/d/U9cU0B) just in case the wayback machine stops archiving that site for some reason.

The driver fixed both of my problems with pinch zoom and pen functions, and is much more satisfying as a drawing tablet.

I dealt with something similar with my wife's X220T. She's recently started drawing quite a bit on it.

We were holding out on Windows 7 but lately the pen was not responding to pressure sensitivity for some reason, so I'd uninstalled/reinstalled drivers a few times which resolved the problem, but only for a few days at a time. So we agreed to take the plunge to do a Windows 10 upgrade. Unsurprisingly, the same issues persisted.

After doing the research on my own I came to a similar conclusion - to use a very specific version of the Wacom drivers and NOT the ones Windows 10 thinks are the most up-to-date. I would need to look at the driver filenames to find out which exactly I used, but since installing them everything has been working perfectly. I know I was able to download a version from 2015 from the Windows Update catalog but I can't recall if those were the final version that worked 100% or not.
