I have been using my Lenovo Thinkpad X240 for some years without issues. But in the last few weeks or a month ago I've been experiencing difficulty with charging it. When ever I plugged in the charger, it continuously connects and disconnects when once it's turned on, with the LEDs also blinking continuously. When charger is plugged in, it says charging, and after a second or less, it says discharging, together with the LEDs also, and the process continues over and over again until I remove the charger. And when I plug it in again, at times it stops for few seconds and start the issue again. Unless I turn off the PC before it charges somehow steadily. I'm really pee'd off with this sudden issue, and I don't really know where the problem might be coming from.
I really do need some help with solving this problem or a clue of what the problem is.
Thanks!!

Re: X240: Charging and discharging continuously when plugged in power adapter.
Start with disconnecting the adapter and taking both batteries out.
Then press and hold the power button down for ~20 seconds.
Next use only the adapter and see how that goes.
If OK, remove it and try it only on the batteries, one at the time, to find the culprit.
Also try another adapter.
If it keeps behaving badly, you have a damaged power circuit somewhere and most likely a new motherboard is required.
