X250 Main board Replacement

#1 Post by fleamourian » Sun Jul 28, 2024 10:27 am

As per HMM states, only a Lenovo technician can change serial numbers & the boards unique identifier. Should I give up now? I blew backlight fuse on original board by not disabling internal battery before opening her up.

Thx! That gives hope. Something to research. Replaced board on T21 & X200, they more complicated these days.

DOS or FreeDOS & this executable on a pen drive suffice? There is mention in HMM of all devices having unique codes. Is setting MB ID enough to boot? & how to handle connection of internal battery without frying the backlight fuse or Reading The Friendly Manual?

Most important is a proper MTM or TYPE, S/N is basically irrelevant.
Make sure to type in the fields properly, as shown in that program, no false space or dash.
