Color calibration on W530?

Hi, I could research, but...

- as a new owner of a W530 with FHD
- I heard about "built-in" colour calibration

Anybody knows anything?

- suppose it's Windows 10
- I got a 14-year old X-Rite I1 calibrator or similar, but no software licenses

What are my options?
I really know nothing about colour calibration but would like to know something

I am using DisplayCal for calibration, and I am using usually the "Web & Office (D65, Gamma 2.2)" preset. However, with that WCG (Wide Color Gamut) 95% NTSC panel found in W530 you have to also set the Correction to "Spectral: LCD RG Phosphor LED family (AUO B156HW01 V.4 in Lenovo W520/W530)", otherwise calibration would result in greenish tint. And specifically watch out for Correction "Spectral: LCD GB-r-LED/RG Phosphor LED family (AUO B156HW01 V.4 Dell U2413)" - that was also resulting (for me) in greenish tint, although I don't know why, because I was expecting that it would yield same results as formerly mentioned correction setting, but I was wrong. I tried these calibration settings with DataColor Spyder 3 and x-rite i1 display pro, I purchased some time ago.

Do you happen to know how exactly it calibrates? Does the color adjustment happen entirely inside the graphics card? E.g. are the 8-bit triplets that are sent out over the wires to the panel changed? And we're effectively not using all 256*256*256 colors that the panel is capable of but only some subset of those? Or is it anything more interesting?

I may be confused but I guess I'm asking if there is a "hardware LUT" somewhere here?.. Please do tell me if my terminology is all off. I believe my MultiSync LCD 2690WUXi might have a "12-bit LUT" in it but the calibration software would have to have an intimate knowledge of the display to make use of it?.. Unless I'm talking funny nonsense.. Yes it seems you basically need NEC own software, SpectraView II and then the calibrator will be able to alter the color rendition by changing the LUT inside 2690WUXi. How common is this nowadays?..

I am also wondering if there is any way to change this "gamma" in either W530 or 2690WUXi other than via manipulating the 8-bit triplets..
