Hey have a W530 with the 1366x768 screen. Could anyone suggest a 1080p upgrade that's a good direct replacement?

I see mentions of the b156hw01 v4 as a good direct drop in option. But how do you find a decent one? Were they available in other laptops that I could harvest from?

Any alternatives? If they require modifications to the laptop to fit, is there any write ups available?

From the Panelook page on B156HW01 V4 Alias: B156HW01 V.4 Code: AUO14ED, LEN40B2

https://www.panelook.com/B156HW01+V4_AU ... w_686.html

At the bottom of the page is a list of more panels.

I can personally attest to installing the Innolux N156HGE-L11 which was used in Dell Workstations into a T520 and finding the Innolux a very good panel!

As these panels are around 10-15 years old, finding a used-pull on the recycling market (ebay) or surplus market (Aliexpress) should be easy and cheap.

Best of luck!

Is the N156HGE-L11 a direct replacement? I'm not sure how to tell if it is?

I was reading about some of the IPS and converter mod, but seems like a lot of modifications to the laptop. Would this replacement be pretty close to an IPS?

IPS is great but the TN 1080p in 15” segment are good enough. It’s the pixels you want.

The innolux fit in my T520, i don’t remember if i had to do anything to it.

Innolux panel just came and wow what an improvement! Install was a breeze also!

When first install I must of not had the connector seated all the way as the screen turned off after booting, once I had it seated and taped down it's working awesome!
