Will 8TB (dual-sided) SSD fit in the Thinkpad X1 Yoga gen 7 or 6?

Hi,

Has anyone tried fitting an 8TB SSD such as the Sabrent Rocket Q 8TB into the Thinkpad X1 Yoga gen 7 or gen 6?

It is fine if it needs to squeeze just a bit, the critical question should be that the laptop's firmware does not contain harmful blocking code, and also the electricity supply actually works.

It would be helpful to know if anyone else had a success rather than to run into crippled firmware as in the case of Thinkpad P1 gen 3.

Any insights much appreciated, thanks.

I don't think you can stuff an 8 TB drive into any normal business or gaming laptop that is currently on the market. The X1 has a capacity of 1TB.

It'll fit, but you'll be putting stress on the SSD. With a $1300 SSD I wouldn't take the risk.
