For T440p not booting Windows 10 any longer but showing the boot menu, I tried the fix suggested by several videos like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxaUbLMqvqA
- Secure Boot disabled
- UEFI/Legacy [Both]
- UEFI/Legacy Boot Priority [Legacy first]
So, I ran TestDisk and selected an "EFI GPT" partition type.
It confirmed that the primary GPT partition was gone and listed the partitions found from the backup partition table.
I performed a "Quick Check", which found the deleted partition (with "D" flag). I could list their files by hitting the "P" key.
There were some duplicates in partitions (with slightly different offsets), but I could find a valid partition scheme.
After switching the three (EFI, Windows, Recovery) partition from "D" (Deleted) to "P", I wrote them.
By connecting the hard drive to another computer, I can confirm the partitions are now visible and their files can be listed.
I also did a file system check for the misc partitions. If right clicking "Disk 1", the possibility is offered to convert it into a dynamic disk, which was not done yet.
When trying to boot, the laptop is stuck on a command prompt showing "1234F:_" (where "_" is the blinking cursor).
Any idea any about what does thiis "1234F" mean and what to do now?
Thank you!
