If the Ultrabase Series 3 still work on X330?

I brought a X330 serveral days ago
The moder moded the screen with a.gain's kit,hijacking the dock dp#2
If the Ultrabase Series 3 work well on X330,I will buy a used one for the ultrabay
Does anyone know?

According to the first post in nitrocaster's original mod thread, the Ultrabase does not use Dock DP#2, only DP#1, so it should work without issues. However, other users reported they still needed to tape the DP#2 pins on the docking connector, so I don't know.

But can you switch it back on manually - that is the question. And can you get both internal and external screen work at the same time?

I managed to get the screen work while on the dock station. This topic explained the taping: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=122640&p=808731#p808731

However the success is limited. After the first screen idle shutoff I couldn't manage to switch it on by itself. Had to use external VGA screen to access fn + f7, then I could setup both screens to show.
However sometimes I can't switch on the inner screen. The OS is Fedora

Quick update -> while connected to an external VGA screen connected to the docking station , both screens work ok. After idle timer switches off screens there was no problem waking up both laptop and external screens.
It's quite strange that I could wake the screen this time even without the external screen.
I haven't tested the rest of the I/O from the docking.

I just tried Ultrabase with X330 and the LCD still lights but software backlight control with Fn-key fails pending reboot. I would guess that the software backlight control uses a USB device connected to an Ultrabase USB which on docking overrides the backlight control device.

Did you tape the pins on the Ultrabay as mentioned above ?

just chiming in to update that taping the pins permits the machine to work properly as far as the internal display goes. However as I suspected those pins don't cover whatever dock USB port is re-used for the X330 kit's USB brightness controller, it gets overridden and Fn brightness control is lost. But the power button still works.

HWINFO reveals the USB brightness controller manufactured by AGAN as being connected to Port 3 (of Ports 1 through 8 ) of the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller -1.0 (Microsoft).

This entry disappears when the machine is docked.

So if I can find which pins on the ultrabase correspond to Port 3 and tape them off too, i hope everything will be good but can one really know?
