Hey folks,
I have a 'third batch' X210 from cnmod.cn. I'm struggling to get a Sierra Wireless AirPrime MC7710 working in the second mPCIe slot ("Minipcie 2" in Jackie's post here). I've tried simply installing the card, changing several seemingly relevant BIOS settings, and even taping pins #23, 25, 31, 33 per this article on Techship to disable PCIe -- all to no avail: nothing shows up in my USB device list in Linux.
Does anyone have any other ideas to try? My next route is to purchase a mPCIe to USB adapter, install the modem there, and tell it to ignore the W_DISABLE pin.

Re: WWAN on X210
Does that slot support USB? From what I know, the WWAN cards need USB support.

Re: WWAN on X210
I'm not totally clear on that either. I'm going on the assumption that it will support USB based on others' descriptions of that slot as supporting a 'WWAN CARD'.TheForgottenKing wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:16 pmDoes that slot support USB? From what I know, the WWAN cards need USB support.
In any case, I purchased an mPCIe to USB Adapter Board from Pi Supply (which miraculously made it through Danish customs without incurring the questionably steep handling fee) and can enumerate the card now in a 5.12.9 Linux kernel. Not sure what an 'interface number' means in this context.
Code: Select all
usb 1-6: new high-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
usb 1-6: config 1 has an invalid interface number: 8 but max is 4
usb 1-6: config 1 has an invalid interface number: 10 but max is 4
usb 1-6: config 1 has no interface number 1
usb 1-6: config 1 has no interface number 4
usb 1-6: New USB device found, idVendor=1199, idProduct=9071, bcdDevice= 0.06
usb 1-6: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
usb 1-6: Product: Sierra Wireless MC7455 Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X7 LTE-A
usb 1-6: Manufacturer: Sierra Wireless, Incorporated
usb 1-6: SerialNumber: LQ83...-
