Hi all!
I’ve got a x210 that seems to have a problem with its display panel or the display cable. (This was the one on US eBay the other week, if anyone caught that.) The laptop boots up and shows activity, fan spins, but the display stays dark.
Because I’m not sure how the previous owner had this setup and don’t have a VGA monitor/cable handy, I’ve only attempted to boot it with mini Displayport, which didn’t connect to my monitor. I disassembled things and tried jiggling the ribbon cables carefully to see if it was an issue of the display cables getting dislodged, but didn’t see any change in the panel.
It is a x210, not sure what motherboard version, with the DP adapter soldered to the motherboard. The display is the 2880*1920 NV126A1M-N52 or NV126A1M-N51 that was listed on the XY Tech site, but I think this was one of Jacky’s. Both XY Tech and Jacky are, as far as I can tell here, not in business anymore and not responding to others’ emails.
Does anyone know what cable I’d get if I wanted to replace the panel cables? There’s the round black cable from the motherboard through the hinge, and then another flat ribbon cable from that to the connector on the back of the panel itself. Secondly, does anyone know if I do order a NV126A1M-N52 from eBay or Aliexpress and it comes with the glass front (touchscreen digitizer), if I can safely remove the panel from that digitizer and install it? Or do I need to source a bare panel to do this? And in that case, would I be better off using the JDI LPM130M364 that XY Tech preferred? Can I swap in that panel with the same cables?

Replacing x210 display or display cable?
Re: Replacing x210 display or display cable?
viewtopic.php?p=870343#p871470 re cable
51nb X210 with community EC mod, me_cleaner and recelled 99W*h battery; X230 with coreboot, me_cleaner and nitrocaster's FHD mod as a backup; R500 for guests; T60 just for the looks.
Re: Replacing x210 display or display cable?
30 pin sounds like the cable with original motherboard connector for the FHD screen
This one is a 51 pin connector on the displays I’m seeing on Aliexpress, but that flat cable is on in the display to the “adapter” part of the black round cable that comes from the motherboard edp adapter board.
