Display panel & keyboard P50
Display panel & keyboard P50
Hi,
My P50 needs keyboard and display panel replacement, the matrix is the high resolution, I had a quote of $500 AUD for refurbishment by local Chinese repair shop, they can get the parts under 1 week, is it worth it or shall I buy parts and do it myself?
One year and a half is rather poor lifespan, I'm disappointed.
If someone knows the part numbers it would be great to let me know so I can chase them down and look at costs.
Cheers!

You can get the P50 frubom (a.k.a. partslist) here: https://usermanual.wiki/Lenovo/P50Frubo ... 1752380068

Brilliant thanks
Re: Display panel & keyboard P50
How do I know which part is suitable for my P50?
Noted that the link is retrieving a chart in bitmap, cant copy numbers across, would you have an actual list proper rather than this screenshot?

Re: Display panel & keyboard P50
My P50 laptop fell in a hotel room and the 4K LCD was cracked.
I bought an AUO B156ZAN02.1 as a replacement, which I believe is the model used in the P51 or P52 and has slightly better specs than the original P50 4k display, while fitting exactly as the original display. It is 300 nits, 800:1 contrast ratio, 100% adobe RGB, and matte. If you previously had a FHD display you need a different cable (not sure where you get that from).
I bought the display from thinking-world on ebay USA. Make sure to ask the seller if they have the exact model you are looking for and not a "compatible" part. I paid around $250 back in 2019.
My trackpoint failed last year, it just stopped working one day. I can't live with the touch pad (I have it disabled anyway) so replaced the keyboard. After some searching (I needed UK layout) I found the best price here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303995629072
