Do P1 Gen1 or P1 Gen3 have LE Audio support?

#1 Post by Muse » Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:43 pm

I have these two laptops, but are still running Windows 10. I have some issues I've simply lived with that may well be resolved if I upgrade to Windows 11. Presumably LE Audio is not possible with Windows 10, but may be with Windows 11.

If I upgrade to Windows 11 will LE Audio be available to me? I'm being fitted for Rexton Reach hearing aids in 10 days or so, which are LE Audio supporting with a recent firmware upgrade. Am shopping for a new cell phone that is LE Audio supporting, possibly a Pixel 8 or Samsung 23.

Thanks for info!

What is clear is that the Bluetooth 5.0 which both of these Thinkpads came with will not support LE Audio. So, in hopes that the P1 Gen 3 and P1 Gen1 laptops WILL support LE Audio with the addition of Bluetooth 5.3 WIFI/Bluetooth cards I ordered a couple of these:

WAVLINK Lot Intel AX210NEW 5400Mbps Tri-Band Ethernet Network Adapter 2.4G/5G/6G

Is it possible one or both of these laptops will support LE Audio when I swap out the WIFI/Bluetooth card for these? I think the Thinkpads' audio codecs would need to be compliant, don't know how to evaluate that or if there's a workaround.

Edit: Or is a dongle possible that will make my P1 laptops LE Audio (and even Auracast) capable?

Hints/help/ideas appreciated.
