I just an ordered a P16 Gen 1 on 11/6. Below are the parameters:
-12th i9-12950HX vPro (E-cores up to 3.60 GHz P-cores up to 5.00 GHz)
-64 GB DDR5-4800MHz (SODIMM) - (2x32 GB)
-NVIDIA RTX A4500 16GB GDDR6
-Windows 11 Pro 64
-1 TB SSD M.2 2280 PCle Gen4 Performance TLC Opal
-16'' WQUXGA (3840x2400), IPS, Anti-Glare, Adobe 100%, 600 nits

The expected delivery date is 11/23-11/29

Now is the Black Friday Season. With the LENOVO Scholars, I think it is on a reasonably good deal.

I am curious if anyone has got the P16 with similar built-up. And how do you feel about using it? Have you encountered any thermal/noise/unstable issues so far?

Thanks

What did you pay for it?

Do NOT perform a BIOS update inside of Win 11 after receiving it.

May I know why? Or is there a reference link/video/website for the potential issue that the update will bring?

Yes. An on-site service call this Friday to replace the bricked motherboard in my 33 day-old T16.

Sorry to hear this. Does P16 have same motherboard as T16 has? And did people from LENOVO explain why this happened?

There was no explanation and no questions about my system after explaining in great detail about the problem and the several remedies I tried before creating a ticket.

I am only assuming they use the same motherboard, but could be completely wrong about that fact.

The T16 is a great system the way I ordered it and was working great (and very fast) right up until the BIOS update. It had still not completed after over nine hours and the computer never restarted.

P16 and T16 are completely different system designs, so not the same mainboard.

Regardless, do NOT trust W11 in any way or form, especially auto-updates!
Go back to W10 or rather: dump Micro$haft altogether.

If you check page 84 of the HMM you will find that these two computers do share the same system board.

No.

The T16 shares its system board with the P16s, not the P16. And that is also what the HMM says.

OP be careful to the advice you listen to on here. I would not downgrade to Windows 10 as it is unable to properly manage the efficiency cores properly on 12th Gen Intel's. I performed BIOS update to 1.16 with no issues or degradation to benchmark scores.

Thank you for the information. I downgraded the system to Win 10 due to multiple reasons, mainly because the compatibility with softwares. For some reason one of my daily used software does not support Win 11 for now.
