Does P16 G1 / G2 have WWAN card locking?

As stated in the title, I am wondering if anyone is able to confirm if the P16 G1 / G2 have BIOS level WWAN card FRU locking?
In general, is the WWAN card FRU locking fairly universal or does it only apply to specific ThinkPad models?

The WLAN card is soldered in both those models, so a whitelist is irrelevant here.
For WWAN they still seem to be stuck with 4G Fibocom L860-GL-16.
No idea if 5G is available, or if there is a whitelist.

The Thinkpad P16 gen 1 does not have soldered wwan. If there are antenna wires in the chassis, it will accept the LTE modem. You have to remove the keyboard to see if you have the wires. Dependent on model, you may have a sim reader, as was with mine. A newer version, just ordered, has the esim built into the wwan. This will be helpful as when traveling, it jostles the sim card sometimes, requiring re-seating. It will not accept the 5G one as it is not on the whitelist in the bios. Bought both, only the LTE is recognized in bootup. You would think that if a business is going out to buy a friebreathing machine for employees it would want the fastest possible connection, but I guess the engineers never thought of that???????? Maybe someone can produce a hack to allow those modems. That would be great.
Using a tethered cell phone is sometimes not practical, especially when doing a large down/up load when you are not by the PC.
