Broke the thing that clips my trackpoint mouse

Hey folks! Anyone else feel the Thinkpad P Series are not built nearly as durable as the T60? I bought a P51 towards the end of its run, on sale, and within three years the keyboard started giving issues. I was under warranty and requested a keyboard replacement, but they didn't since I could not reproduce the problem 100% of the time.

Anyway, a few months after my warranty expired, my keyboard died for good and I tried replacing it myself. I had done this many times, but on this occasion, while clipping back the trackpoint to the motherboard, the top part snapped off its hinges. See this shared image.

I tried to give it for repairs at a couple of places, but they were clueless on what to do. Would it be possible to get this fixed without replacing the motherboard?

Also, my touchpad and battery have also died. Where can I buy good quality replacement parts? The laptop is so old, I don't see them available on the Lenovo website.

If you still have the top half, just clip it as best as you can, then put some Kapton tape to hold it in place. My brother's T460 had damage to both keyboard and Trackpoint connectors, and that's what I did.

That's what I did, but the trackpoint doesn't work.

It probably isn't inserted correctly. I remember cursing repeatedly trying to get the keyboard and Trackpoint to work. :x
When I finally got them working, I told myself I'll never replace that keyboard again.
