Really weird X13 problem

i5-10210U / 8 /256 / FHD

Purchased cheaply due to faulty trackpad.

Trackpad does NOT work with Windows and is not registering in the diagnostics when I boot, other than that Windows works fine (W10), but no trackpad, the options to change the trackpad also are greyed out.

All updates, BIOS and otherwise installed, device manager shows a perfect machine, trackpad drivers all OK, trackpad enabled in BIOS.

But the mystery just starts...

The Trackpad works in Linux (Ubuntu and Debian) flawlessly!

However there is another issue, installing Linux (Ubuntu) was a real pain because multiple USB boot sticks were giving read errors (although it works fine on my X1C G4), and once installed (itself trial and error because of freezes) I had massive problems booting Ubuntu/Debian and shutting down... simply put the machine would just freeze up completely requiring a hard reset (10 secs+ on the power button) - there is some sort of issue on starting/stopping some service I guess, possibly power/graphics related? I'm clueless here. Is the only TP I have had any issues with Linux.. and these issues are not trivial either.

Windows USB install went smoothly..... and no freezes, ultra stable.

So it seems to me to partly be an ACPI/firmware/bug/fault?

As for the Trackpad I have never ever come across such a weird issue before.
