Make Exteranal Display VGA connection display wide screen Linux Mint?

Have a T430 hooked up to external display via VGA.

Its only giving me two resolution options 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 on the display tab.

Is there a way to get a wide screen resolution?

Monitor is a SyncMaster 2053BW and is capable of displaying wide screen resolution on my other setups with it via VGA connection.
