I love my X20 !
I love my X20 !
Just got an X20 a little while ago and I love it. It's such a cool little machine. Having the detachable CD/floppy is nice even though I hardly remove it. Windows 2000 is a perfect match.
I have an A21P and still prefer this X20.

One of my friends owns a 570E and it's a nice machine but I definitley like the X series better. The rubberized wristpad, even smaller formfactor, more solid build and generally faster system configuration all go to make the X series a real winner. Still, if they could make a 13" model, that'd be awesome as that's the only real aspect of the 570 that I really like over the X though that 12" XGA screen is still pretty good and very sharp. The ruberized paint added to the X series was also a pretty nice addition to the ultraportable lineup.

tghlk, congrats on getting such a nice machine! I too love the X20 and have owned three! I was forced to sell all of them because I felt guilty about owning so many computers that I rarely used.

Yes, your wife knows a good work of engineering when she sees one.bigtiger wrote:Not sure the difference between X24 and X20. But I know X24 is a super machine. My wife owns one and loves it very much. Slim, well built and reliable.
I agree. Adding a dock is not a good idea as it lose the very idea of ultraportable.
Does she have a friend?
Seriously though, the X24 is a superb machine. Very reliable, portable, versatile, and a darn hot sexy machine if you ask me.
As far as the differences between the X20 and the X24: X24 has a more modern CPU with up to almost twice the speed of the fastest processor in the X20, accepts up to 640 Mb of RAM (using the same RAM module types as the T23), and has integrated infrared. the X24 has a Compact Flash slot, the X24's LCD has 1024x768 resolution vs 800x600 of the X20, and probably a few more differences that I can't think of right now. The X20 also tends to get warmer than the X24.
To the original poster: enjoy your X20, it is a great machine. And when you feel like upgrading to something familiar, don't hesitate to get an X24.
