Lenovo parts dept. charges 390$ on holiday orders
Lenovo parts dept. charges 390$ on holiday orders
I just about fell off my chair when i called the parts department (which took me about a week, and 3 representatives to get me the information i was looking for, and their website doesn't look up part numbers at all) and found out if i placed the order today (which is a holiday for lenovo) that they would charge me 390$ holiday order processing fee ontop of the price of the part i want to buy.
nice lenovo!
ever heard of voice messages?
I recommend to get your website working first.
Good luck
seems like lenovo is somewhat on a road to less quality and customer service.
although i do have to give credit where it is due, i have always gotten calls back within a day, and emails responded to within 8 hours.
ordered a maxed out t60p few days ago, and it says it will be shipped after 1/12/06, a little long, but oh well.

Before I bought my T42, when IBM was running the whole show, I had a 600E. I wanted to buy a CMOS backup battery for it - you know, a coin cell with 2 short leads attached. IBM's website had it for $15 at one point, but when I went to order it, the price listed was $430.00!
I sent IBM an email saying there must be a pricing error. They responded that when supply gets short, the price is adjusted accordingly. They said there is no mistake; the actual current price is $430. Ouch
With policies like that, I believe they never had to worry about running out of stock.

DKB
ive been trying to get my office and other customers to switch to ibm for last few months, everyone says the machines are the 'cats meow' , but im starting to change my opinion.
this t60p will be my first ibm machine, i hope it is everything everyone says it is.
you are right, everyone i talk to about switching either gives me a 'i have no idea, are they good' kind of answer or they give me a stern "Ive never liked IBM's attitude - regardless of their machine quality and service".
i guess each must sleep in their own bed.

So, would you prefer that they just didn't answer the phone at all on holidays?liquidous wrote:that they would charge me 390$ holiday order processing fee ontop of the price of the part i want to buy.
Cheers,

yeah in some countries you will get that kind of attitude from IBM/Lenovo but in Singapore, they anwered my call but if i send in an email, it took them 4 days to reply me or else they won't reply at all. And i need to write another email in traditional chinese (don't care whether it is broken chinese or not but at least give them a rough idea what my problem is) and with this then within 3 hours they reply me.liquidous wrote:everyone i talk to about switching either gives me a 'i have no idea, are they good' kind of answer or they give me a stern "Ive never liked IBM's attitude - regardless of their machine quality and service".
But i have some problem with my new exchanged batteries and i have problem getting them to reply my emails. I think i should start by using chinese poetry to describe my problem.
What parts are you ordering?
Do you need my help?
Regards,
