T430 port replicator usb 3 problem

Hi all,

I am experiencing problems with my western digital my passport dropping out and getting errors like "item not found" when trying to copy files from my c drive to the usb drive. My laptop is plugged in to the port replicator. I have the latest drivers for the usb drive and I've done a system update and windows update, so I don't really know what is going on. If anyone could shed any light or offer any advice that would be greatly appreciated as this is really frustrating. Many thanks.
