Hello all,
I have a bluetooth Thinkpad keyboard which I use when the laptop itself is docked and attached to a second screen. It suffers from awful pointer drift and I was wondering if anyone had had the same experience and found a solution and if the problem is confined to the bluetooth version (somehow related to the connectivity) or if the usb version has it too (a flaw in the actual keyboard).
If the latter I will look out for one of the old ones...
Take a look at our

Pointer drift on external thinkpad keyboards
Re: Pointer drift on external thinkpad keyboards
I don't know which keyboards you have, but I have a pair of the ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth keyboards that I use with my HTPCs. They mostly work well, occasionally the reception is spotty, but I did also notice that drift is more frequent that other ThinkPad keyboards I've used, but never looked for a solution.trmsw wrote:I was wondering if anyone had had the same experience and found a solution

Re: Pointer drift on external thinkpad keyboards
I have the Thinkpad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard (0B47189) being used with a T410 as a media server with my HDTV. Since my daughter uses it most often, I just asked her about the pointer drifting and she said "yes, at times". Her solution is to turn off the keyboard and then back on. It usually fixes the problem right away but the drifting pointer comes back after a while. For the times that I've used it recently, I didn't notice any drifting. The keyboard is at most, about 10 feet from the laptop while in use.

Re: Pointer drift on external thinkpad keyboards
I have had the problem a few times on my USB based TP keyboard. But its rare... I dont remember having the problem after upgrading to Windows 10.... But that migth be because i dont use the trackpoint often.
