No Sound
Anyone know how to troubleshoot a "no sound" issue? Using both WinXP and Mint11 on a T30 (2366-96U).

Re: No Sound
If you've got no sound in both XP and Mint, the audio chip is likely toast.
I've seen it happen more on A3x machines, but have owned a couple of T30s with this issue as well.
PCMCIA sound card or a board swap - your call.
Good luck.

Re: No Sound
Can you give me any more info about the sound card? I will try an eBay search meantime.ajkula66 wrote:If you've got no sound in both XP and Mint, the audio chip is likely toast.

Honestly, if there's no sound from the board, I trash it...so any recommendations on actual cards that will do the job will have to come from elsewhere...
Good luck.

Re: No Sound
I agree that it sounds like trash. It came from eBay and the seller has agreed to accept a return.ajkula66 wrote:Honestly, if there's no sound from the board, I trash it...so any recommendations on actual cards that will do the job will have to come from elsewhere...
