T430 hardware passwords

Hello all. Several moons since I frequented the forum! I am looking to buy a used T430 as the herd is getting old and worn out (see sig). I found one with a bios password that lets me get to the first BIOS menu but whe I select BIOS options, another password comes up that the seller is unaware of (he knows the first password, so I'm pretty sure it's not stolen). He thinks this is the hard drive password but I don't think so (why would it come up when I selct "enter bios menu")?

Any one throw any light on this?

Pull the hard drive out, and redo the whole routine.

If the second PW doesn't come up without the drive, the seller is correct and the drive can be trashed.

Thanks George: I found the T430 Hardware maintenance manual on the web and this second password appears to be the "supervisor password". I guess he's (I'm) out of luck on this one.
