Hi Everyone,
(writing this for the second time, looks like since something went wrong with my first attempt)
I have an X1-carbon which I use "on the road", mobile internet gets provided by a built in WWAN adapter with a T-Mobile (Germany) SIM card. This setup works well as long as I use T-Mobile inside of Germany, but it stops working when leave the country: While in France it seems I am unable to establish any connection at all.
I have smartphones with me that work well using the ORANGE network at the very same place, where the X1 does not connect to any French network. I do not have a dialer software installed, I usually connect to the mobile network just by clicking on the "T-Mobile" entry that I have on top of the list showing all available WLANs (after right-clicking the network icon in the task bar).
I know how to set up a hotspot with the smartphone, and I use that option barring alternatives, I still would like to get the laptop connected "by itself".
Any help or hint would be appreciated.
Thanks - Matthias

Re: WWAN roaming connection issue
Is data roaming active for the SIM you're using with your X1C? Also, I remember there are some settings like "allow roaming"/"connect automatically except roaming", I'd check for these too.

Re: WWAN roaming connection issue
OK, just realized WWAN=Mobile_Broadband, which is what I have for my X1C3 (X1 Carbon Generation 3) with built-in 3G mobile broadband module (Ericsson-N5321). Win7 Pro English 64-bit. Access Connection installed.
1a. Double-Click [Access_Connections] on your TaskBar >> Switch_to:[Advanced_View]
1b. Click on [Location_Profiles], choose [Mobile_Broadband]>>[Mobile_Broadband_Settings]>>[Custom_Settings]>>[Edit_Settings]
1c. ***Ensure that the APN (Access Point Name) is the correct one for both Germany and France. You may need to check with T-Mobile. OR, you can just look at your Smartphone's APN settings for T-Mobile (since your smartphone seems to work for both Germany and France).
2. If above does not work, you can try to troubleshoot by going to:
2a: [Control_Panel]>>[Network_and_Sharing]
2b. If there is a Yellow Exclamation Triangle, right click this, and choose the 3rd option (resolve problem automatically using Windows), hope this helps!
3. You can also look at the Mobile Broadband error logs to see what went wrong, at:
3a. Double-Click [Access_Connections] on your TaskBar >> Switch_to:[Advanced_View]
3b. [Tools]>>[Mobile_Broadband]
3c. View SIM / View Account Info / View Connection Log
(I feel your pain, my mobile broadband provider was not helpful, and finally Lenovo support centre literally helped me to physically set up my computer's mobile broadband for me).
Good luck!

Re: WWAN roaming connection issue
Remove Access Connections and use the built-in Windows broadband connection manager. It will make things better.
