p4 find for A31p

hey all!
Would someone who knows what Intel p4 mobile 2.6Ghz works in the A31p system include, or post a link to where it can be purchased?
it's currently disassembled so i want to throw one in to max it out.

The only one that works is SL6WZ - I don't see any on eBay now or from the last 90 days. For that matter I didn't see any SL6WY or SL6P2 - the 2.5 (I bought one for like $15 just 3 years ago). The 2.4s are plentiful though...

I wouldn't pay that type of money, but it's the correct CPU.

I've seen once a SL6WZ on ebay, and the price was around $90. These are quite expensive as they are rare. But if you want it because of performance, it's not really worth the money. I personally ended up buying a SL6P2.

FWIW: I did a quick google search for the part number, and found a couple under $100, granted they are refurbished. This one was $62.22, but I am not familiar with the seller...but considering it is half the price of the one you pointed to.

Another quick google search found mostly decent reviews for the business, but who knows in this day and age. I just know we are limited in sources for these things nowadays.

I was in similar situation looking for slot 1 fsb 100 800mhz PIII. Ebay search is biased badly.

So what I did was use google "800MHz PIII ebay" and scored good price on one.

I have a P4 2.5Ghz and I personally do not recommend it on a A31p. Sure the extra heat can be taken care of by the copper heatsink, but the extra TDP is gonna significantly reduce the lifespan of your motherboard by stressing the vrms a lot more. I have received such a A31p unit with P4 2.5Ghz and it didn't take long before one of the capacitors beside the cpu smoked out. Fortunately it didn't damage anything else and replacing it with one from my dead T41p motherboard did the trick.
But if you want to take such a risk for an extra bit of performance, I can give you the picture of such a processor. Just remember the prices of these A31p motherboards are pretty much just as insane as that processor these days.
