X1C7 replacing ultranav button

#1 Post by polezaivsani » Sat Feb 08, 2020 2:10 pm

I've been spoiled with ability to withstand my clumsy interventions seeking to fix minor issues with earlier X-es (x61 and x220). I was less lucky with the X1C7 though - while trying to investigate the tactile difference between left and right ultranav buttons, i've botched the tiny plastic clips on one button for good.

Do you think it would make any sense to look for a spare button alone?

That key is part of the keyboard, and single keys are not (yet) available on eBay.
Try aliexpress.
Full keyboard, e.g. this: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/153741891386
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Thank you so much, RealBlackStuff! My searches by exact part number didn't brought back much initially, but with your hint i did found the keyboard - remaining details might come handy down the road too :)

Just got a replacement keyboard from aliexpress and the transplant job went through pretty smooth.

In case anybody here would need a spare keycap, i might help one out.
