Advanced bios config t430s

Hey everyone, I’ve installed the ivyrain bios on my t430s
I’m pretty new to bios modding and everything included. I can usually figure things out but I am wanting to learn and do more. My t430s is a project/ test machine. I got it for free so I want use it to learn. I’m looking to see if I can squeeze more performance out of it. I.e. overclock if possible and anything else for me to learn. Changes to make things to try etc. if there’s any suggestions or anything I’d love to hear them!

This post hasn't had any responses, but like the OP, I am also interested in learning what benefits using the 1vyrain BIOS hack presents to T430s [or T430 in general] users.

I'm running a specced out T430s... and its my main [laptop] daily driver at the current. So, if overclocking is SAFE and would give any noticeable performance benefits that would be a reason I'd want to run it...

I'm into FOSS, but 1vyrain is the closest thing available... you can't run a FOSS BIOS-- so tell us; Why should we use 1vyrain in 2020 on T430 hardware?!

overclocking isn't safe, there's a reason why nearly every sane company out there that promotes overclocking has a disclaimer attached. well, as long as you know your system's limits, you can overclock as you see fit. however, if you ever do manage to completely render your system unusable from overclocking it, do keep in mind that it isn't anyone's fault but yours. i've seen too many cases that goes along the lines of: an overclocked system went unstable/failed and its owner was repeatedly bashing the UEFI/BIOS modder for 'allowing that to happen'. you get my drift?

would overclocking give any noticeable performance benefits you ask? that's a little hard to answer, because the word 'noticeable' is subjective and therefore not everyone will see it as a word with your own definition of it applied. you've got to be clear on what you're expecting from overclocking, e.g. a minor performance increase when it comes to emulating a GameCube? a jump from unplayable to playable frame-rates on a PS2 emulator? pushing more FLOPS in Folding@home? please, do tell.

i'm not into FOSS sadly, so i don't really know your intent of running 1vyrain on a T430s. if i had such a machine, and the intent of running 1vyrain... i would be using it only for the sake of its convenient ability to remove the whitelist associated with the MiniPCIe slots. but i dont, as i have a system which doesn't come with a whitelist.
