T480 Battery 1 Not Charging

After discharging to 5%, the Battery 1 on my T480 is not charging.

Battery 2 discharges and charges like normal.

I am using the 65W power adapter. I tried using a different 45W power adapter I had lying around, same problem.

Any ideas for the reason behind this behavior? I'm on Windows 10.

Can you see any additional details in Lenovo Vantage? There are also settings for gauge reset, charge thresholds etc. that you might try adjusting to see if the battery will start to charge again. It may also give you a reason behind why it's not charging currently.

Unfortunately I can't install Lenovo Vantage due to corporate restrictions. Not sure if there's another workaround to see potential battery issues.

I'm not aware of anything that wouldn't require admin rights. You may be able to see something in BIOS but I can't say for certain...

Since you mentioned it's a corporate machine, have you tried reaching out to your corporate IT helpdesk?

Yes, they want to take a look at the physical battery but the office is closed. They say the battery may be defective or have been damaged due to the Thunderbolt issue?

Today I experienced the same problem, the battery 1 would show a state of charge 5% and battery 2 100%. Battery 1 was not being charged.
I tryed executing the application Lenovo Vantage and looking for system updates. A couple of updates were found:
ThinkPad Hotkey Features Integration Package Setup - 10 [64] - 9.2.0.4
ThinkPad BIOS Update - 10 [64] - 1.37
I installed both updates and after reboot the battery 1 is being charged again.
