X230T battery replacement - is there a smaller variant on the market?
My X230T lasts just barely 1,5h on single charge, so I'm looking for replacement battery. I was made aware of smaller variant under number 67, and I'm not really a fan of protruding battery pack I currently have. However no matter where I look, I can only find larger sized cells. Well, there is one listing for 67 battery on Aliexpress, but it's almost 3 times more expensive than 67+. Anyways, I probably would like to avoid batteries of dubious quality. Are 67 batteries just rare and should I stick with 67+. Are there any modern replacements you can recommend?

Hmm.. if it's completely no-name I probably wouldn't risk it.. Besides if my X220 is anything to judge by, 4 hrs is a good run-time under Linux with a 6-cell battery. Seeing that 67 is nominally 3-cell, wouldn't it mean that 67 isn't really worth having anyway? Which batt do you have now that lasts 1.5 hrs? What was the maximum run-time you used to get from it?
My experience with KingSener batt on X220: it's okayish but after less than 1/2 year of service it started dropping fast to zero after reaching 30%. It's not good but it still gives me decent run-time. Among other no-name batteries this may be a sensible choice for X220/X230 and also for X220t/X230t.
P.S. is the 6-cell battery for X230t Li-Ion while 3-cell is Li-Po? In my understanding Li-Ion normally are 18650 round metal cells similar to AA but Li-Po are flat pastic bags with magic content inside. Is X230t 6-cell battery made of 18650? Is the 3-cell made of those plastic bags? If that was true I'd go for battery with 18650 cells since I just trust them more.. and feel like an honest 3rd party manufacturer should have an easier time sourcing good ones.

My current battery is 5300 mAh genuine Lenovo battery. I'm not the first owner so I'm not sure how battery performed from very beginning. But I guess since battery is dated 9/2013, it might be the original one that came with the PC. From what I can tell from my experience, back in 2017 when I bought this Thinkpad it could work on single charge for at least 4 hours. I just did a small test with YouTube playback and it lasted for 2 hours with most power efficient battery settings. I've also ran battery report and it says that full charge capacity is about 18,950 mWh compared to design capacity of 62,160 mWh.atagunov wrote: ↑Fri Mar 05, 2021 4:46 pm

I found the listing of this Kingsener battery, and one of the feedback read that battery drops to 80% capacity after less than 20 cycles, so I might pass on those. However I found some listing on local auctions. First one is 6-cell rated 4400 mAh, second 9-cell rated 6600 mAh. I might pick either of those, as both have one year warranty, and since I'm using this laptop daily, I will know sooner or later if battery degrades sooner than it should.

GreenCell seems to be kind of a "brand" too, so why not?.. I probably couldn't see myself going for the slim version no matter how you paint it. Expensive/hard to get and being either rather old original or an aftermarket one - I'd just fear the capacity would not be there.
I've got parts to assemble an X230t, they've just been sitting in boxes for a bit too long, so me talking here is not entirely hypothetical
