Refurbishing ThinkPads to like new

#1 Post by ThinkPad560X » Sat Apr 09, 2022 6:21 pm

I have lots of ThinkPads and desktops and want to find a cleaner that will restore the plastics and enrich the plastics if can. Right now I am just using ArmourAll dash wipes. I shines the machines up and want something that may give a ThinkPad that new look again. I saw on a comment of something called eucalyptus oil. What does anyone that restores old machines use and can I find it at retail stores?

In the past, I've made the outside coating look new again with Magic Eraser.

The 3M adhesive that comes on the back of vinyl decals will supposedly remove all of the oils that make some ThinkPads look shiny.

T14 Gen 1 and some older ThinkPads running Debian.
