Hello, I just jump ship from windows 7 to Linux Fedora 36, and I want to map my FN space, but the problem is it isn't working as it suposes to, the WM doesn't recognized it, and acpi doesn't do anything
This is the guide that I followed to this point
https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Installi ... fy.29_work
with that I installed acpid on fedora 36, then try to map magnifier key, as on Fedora Spin XFCE(WM, as I stated before) it doesn't recognize fn+space key
and based on this docs
https://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_g ... key_events
I tried to map it. Start the acpid, and I look into journalctl -f no avail, no error, no info, Is there anyway to debug it and see why it's not working?
I really desperate to maximize the FN button, because It's already be my muscle memory tbh... and it's sad when I press it by accident and it done nothing *sob sob
Any pointer really appreciated, thank you!
EDIT : I also already check this on https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=174806 remapping using the hwdb, no avail, not even captured by the xev, but listed on xinput but not shown on find /sys -name modalias -print0 | xargs -0 cat | grep dmi

X220 with Win 10 21H2 Fedora 38 XFCE 4.18 (official spins)
i7-2640m, disabled Hyper Thread, Temp Drop on average 10*C, all core activated, need KVM for Windows
12gb RAM (enough for now, DDR3L)
480 Kingston Fake SSD
64gb Samsung SD Card
Recently rolled back to Windows 7 from Win 10 21H2. Sad

Re: How to map FN+Space zoom into Scripts in ACPI Fedora 36
Anyway I found the answer for my problem, It's quite simple actually, as now day every linux input are using libinput, so it's not keyboard anymore but edev instead.
Put this into /etc/udev/hwdb.d/90-custom-thinkpad-x220.conf
Then
Don't forget to reboot. DONE!
Put this into /etc/udev/hwdb.d/90-custom-thinkpad-x220.conf
Code: Select all
# keyboard:name:ThinkPad Extra Buttons:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svn*:pn*
evdev:name:ThinkPad Extra Buttons:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svnLENOVO*:pn*:*
KEYBOARD_KEY_13=search
evdev:name:ThinkPad Extra Buttons:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svnIBM*:pn*:*
KEYBOARD_KEY_13=search
Code: Select all
# udevadm hwdb --update
