x230t 1-3-3-1 beeps

Hi. My x230t get 1-3-3-1 beeps when booting up and not start with black screen. I understand that it can be different problems. But maybe problem is common for x230t? I trid to remove RAM one by one , disconect the ssd, battery, bios battery, tuchpad, trachpad and no resalt - agin same beeps on start and nothing on screen.

1-3-3-1 beeps usually means there is no RAM or bad RAM.
Try booting with only 1 stick in 1 slot, then the other slot.
Do the same with the other RAM stick.

its not RAM problem, It was tested in ferts. I thik somthing with motherboard.

Unless you know board-level troubleshooting, it's a dead end for you. The X230 is around 11 years old now, anything can happen.

finally bought one Lenovo ThinkPad X230 Tablet - i5-3320M 2.6GHz OEM Motherboard - 04X3740. So waiting for shipping. But now I think -is it posibal that is not board problem?

Did you test the RAM on another laptop? If yes, does it boot? If yes, did you perform a memory test (like Memtest86+)?

If the RAM sticks pass memtest86+, try this:

Turn on the X230T without any RAM and hard drive/SSD. Expect the 1-3-3-1 error beep code. Turn it off, then unplug all power sources (battery and charger).
Install 1 stick of known good RAM, then connect the charger and turn on the laptop. If it boots, run memtest86+ and check for errors.
If it doesn't boot, turn it off, disconnect charger, then remove RAM. Reconnect charger, turn on, expect 1-3-3-1.
Turn it off, disconnect charger, then install the RAM stick you previously removed on the other RAM slot.
Reconnect charger, turn on laptop. If it boots, run memtest86+.

If it doesn't work, go back to step 1, but this time, use a different RAM stick.

If it really doesn't boot, then something really terrible has happened to your X230T system board.

my laptop now working. I tried again today. First I put rams to other pc to check. It was ok. After put again in my laptop and tried to boot without touchpad and keyboard. And it booted normal. Its very strange because I tried same without touchpad before and it was not ok , but now its working.With touchpad conected not booted again. After I tried to reconnect flash of touchpad and it start working with it also.


So problem was with touchpad flash cable!!!!

That's very odd. Then again, the X230T is 10-11 years old by now. Anything can happen.

I was having this issue with my x230. I also thought it was the ram/motherboard. After about a year of looking around searching, turns out that the palm rest was the issue. For now I have it unplugged and using my x230 happily. I found this tip https://www.forum.thinkpads.com/viewtop ... 85#p833685 here.

Already ordered another palm rest since I’m not sure if it's the touchpad or the fingerprint reader. Ever since i unplugged that connector no more beeps. Already ordered a new palm rest with an assembly since I’m not sure if it's a component inside the touchpad or the fingerprint reader.
