Clone HD T30

#1 Post by Kyocera » Fri Mar 10, 2006 4:45 pm

Does anyone know of any software (excluding acronis TrueImage as my free trial ran out) that will clone a HD via USB enclosure. I am searching right now, have found two that don't have the USB enclosure option in thier freeware version..

Sorry to read your post only now, anyway I would have failed to give you an answer other than using Acronis True Image.
Used this swapping my hdd 4 weeks ago and was really astonished how difficult it is to find freeware which support hdd in usb-enclosures, Acronis was the only option.
So for the future, could you discard how you did it w/o Acronis?

Well as I have about 6 hd's I restored one that already had the t30 hpa on to factory this way I could use acronis again because I assume it puts something in the registry for the freeware version to expire in the seven day time period, it was a long shot but it worked!

Reinstalled acronis on that drive and cloned the new blank drive in the usb enclosure. Maybe next time I'll look for acronis registry entries and play with them.
