Desparatly Need Answer this Stupid Question on X40
Desparatly Need Answer this Stupid Question on X40
Please help. I need some guidance on the following issues. I'm using X40 with Windows XP.
Recently, I have purchase Logitech USB wireless mouse and keyboard and plan to use it with my X40 when docked in X4. Both keyboard and mouse have their drivers.
Question: Do I need these driver in order it to work properly? What if I just want to use it only when docking. Do I have to uninstall this driver every time. I afraid that it will interfere with X40 integrated keyboard and mouse. What is the best way to do it?
When using external mouse and keyboard, how do I disable X40's keyboard and mouse?
Regarding external monitor. I'm using 17 inches LCD monitor which is design for 1280x1024. However, my X40 is set for 1024 x 768. I have to manaully change resolution everytime I connect my notebook to LCD. Is there any other way to preset resolution for external monitor without interfering resolution setting for X40 screen or automatically change back when disconnect from docking and monitor.
Finally, I've notice that my x40 has color profile for LCD screen. My external monitor also has color profile. Hence, the question is how to install both on X40 and how to make it recognise when to use which one.
Thank you for all your answer in advance. All help are greatly appreciated

As for the external monitor you should be able to set all of that up in the presentation director on the X40 by pressing Fn F7 then mange schemes.
As for the keyboard and mouse you really shouldn't need the drivers, Except for the advanced functions of both. Such as side kwys on the mouse and hotkeys on the keyboard.
But you should be able to install them and when you unplug them from the X40, it will revert back to the built in ones.

Thank you for all your answer. I really appreciate it. I think your answer does not only help me but most beginner. Thank you again
BTW. I would like to install driver for keyboard and mouse since it would help me using some advance function on the keyboard. However, I was hold back by the fear that this driver may screw up my X40 setting.

I have looked at the hardware profile setting but I think that it is only help in disabling some hardware to avoid conflict in different circumstances. Does the hardware profile be used to set display resolution as well?
