I snagged a mint Toshiba Satellite pro 6100 (P4M 1.6Ghz, 40GB HD, 1400x1050 screen, 512MB DDR, Geforce 4 2go video) the other day and was wondering how well it stacked up to the T30 series Thinkpads.

Normally I don't collect anything newer then a P3 (T23 is the newest I have) and I figured that Toshiba (very dusty) was a P2/P3 era machine. P4 laptops seem to get a bit toasty, is the T30 series the same? Toshibas about the same reliability as a Thinkpad from 2002 era?

On this forum, the answer will be: the T30 is better (obviously).
Toshibas have never been known for their reliability...
T30 up to 2.0GHz runs fairly cool, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 are HOT.

But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!
